I need to know if I am being unreasonable or not. It all started when my husband, Darren, gave me the CD player he got me for X-mas early. He said something about needing to get it installed within 30 days, so he gave it to me early. I was thrilled! It was just what I wanted and I was even getting it early. What more could I ask...,except someone to install it. I called Best Buy where he bought it and set up an appointment for them to install it for Wed at 6:30. Unfortunately it was going to cost 85.00 to have it installed and the CD player was only 99.00. So Sunday while I was out with my kids and my mother, he sees the advertisements in the paper for free installation, and decides to take it back. I am now getting upset. I thought maybe he was going to exchange it right then, but as he didn't have the van to have it installed in he couldn't, so he came back with nothing. He said that he saw the free installation ad in Sun's paper and decided to go for that. He was not going to pay 85.00 to have it installed.

Background: With the van we have, you practically have to take off the entire dashboard to install it and I would rather a pro do it and if it is done wrong it is his fault not mine. It was going to be 45.00 labor and 30 something for parts. So, he says that because of the paper he had signed that he did not want it installed and the quote that they gave him for installation, he could not go back and ask them to honor the new ad. Ok, I understand that, plus the ad does say that the free installation is not good on prior purchases. I am calming down now but still not happy.

My husband does not hear half of what I say. One day I we were going grocery shopping. I had the yellow note pad that the list was on in my hand. I told Darren to pick up the sippy cup and diaper bag and he gets the other yellow note pad with a list of CD's on it instead. I just look at him. I kinda made a joke: Darren, read the list to me. Are you sure we have everything written down that we need. He looks up sheepishly. I tell him what I said again and we start laughing. We have been having this look at me and listen to me when I am talking to you conversation for a while now, and it is getting so it isn't funny anymore.

Back to the CD story...I decided to wait until I went into town on Wed for the installation appt.(we were also going to his mothers for dinner), to buy the new one. I asked Darren if he wanted to take his car in case something went wrong witht the install, we would not be stranded. He liked that idea and decided that since he was already half way into town at work, that he would go on to his mothers and I would meet him there at about 5:00. Ok so far. So Wed am he calls and asks me what is the plan for that evening. I remind him that he is going to his mom's and I will meet him there, then I can take the van in at 6:30 and wait until they are done, or we can take 2 cars so he can take me back to his mom's and then we could pick up the van on the way home. He calls me at noon and asks what the plan is for that evening. I repeat everything getting a little annoyed. Then he calls at 3:45 just before he gets off work and asks if I am on my way. Huh?!?!?!? What is he talking about? I said no and he sayst that he thought that I was coming in to meet him at work and we were going to the store now. I repeated, again, everything I had told him earlier and he says so you aren't coming in? No!! He then says that he is on his way home and hangs up. I am getting really upset now.

Background: We go to his parents EVERY Wed for dinner. That is Ok, cause I like his parents. Austin, my oldest also has preschool every Wed. We have a fenced in back yard with a dog and we usually park the cars back there. Since I was going to be the only one home and I had to go out several times, and Darren was going straight to his parents from work, I just parked up front. Usually I would park in back so he could bring the car around back and he would then move the van up front so we could all go in the van.

So he ge comes home. He is not coming in, so I look out the window and he is moving the three car seats from the van to his car. I go out and ask him what he is doing...He says he is going to take the boys with him and we are all going to Best Buy to get the CD player, we are leaving the van there and picking it up on the way home. Ok, where was I when this decision was made????? It sounds ok, i just would have liked to be consulted. I am getting angry! We go to the store...the player he originally bought which he took back and I was going to buy again in no longer 99.00 it is now 149.00. It was on sale last week and this week is free installation. Basically the sales person says that this price, with parts for 30 something, is maybe 5.00 more than last week. So we would be paying the same thing. I ask him what he wants to do and he asks me what I want to do. I should have said lets get it. But no, I said that he was the one buying it, what did he want to do. He said that he wanted to wait for another sale. But he will still have to pay installation!!!!! I am very angry now!! Then I start to feel guilty. Here he is buying me a christmas present and I am upset that he isn't willing to get it now and it isn't even christmas. But he isn't willing to spend more than 120.00 on a player. !!!THIS IS MY ENTIRE CHRISTMAS PRESENT!!! Am I worth so little? It isn't like I want him to buy me a 300.00 player, and believe me they had them! I am very, very upset now and we leave without buying anything. He wants to wait and look in next Sunday's paper. I am going to let him do it. I am staying out of it from now on. I just end up getting upset. I don't know, maybe I am being unreasonable. But it hurt. I came home and cried. It has been a long time since I cried myself to sleep.

Don't get me wrong....I love him and he usually is a great guy....great cook (i hate to cook).....Wonderful with the boys (they adore him and he is great to come home and rescue me several times a week).....Great with cleaning without me having to ask....He is just Very, Very tight with his money!! Hopefully today will be better. Now if only I could find a way for him to hear me, and remember what I say, when we are talking. *G*

Ok, I feel a little better now!! ;-)

Deb, what exactly do the link it eyes do? When I clicked on one I did notice that the background was textured, but other than that is there anything else they do. I noticed two different options in the settings and don't really understand what they are. Is that where you got this?

And Misty, I wonder if the cleaning fairy is on strike. She/He didn't make it to my house either.

I got my X-mas present early. I told my husband that I wanted a CD player for my car. So he got it and gave it to me to get installed within the 30 day time frame. I am very excited about that!!! So I am getting it installed Wed. evening. Plus I got a portable CD player. Now I really need to get my bycicle out or go walk in the park. I have no more excuses. :(
