Under the circumstances...

This is just a note to let you know that this is my journal. I say things here that I might not say out loud to friends or family. I don't expect anyone to respond althought it is nice. I myself don't always have time to read or respond to my friends blogs. If you want to comment on something that you read, please us the Chatter at me? link. I will definitely see that where I might not see it in your blog. I try to do the same for others that have such links. Hugs and kisses to you all. Jen C

I promise I am not a procrastinator. I just don't want to do it right now!

Wow!! I didn't realize that I had not published until just now. I got the link to Deb's blog and had to link to mine through hers, since I lost all of my bookmarks.

Let me tell you, If you have a problem with your computer, the last person you want to talk to is the manufacturer or the software maker. They were nothing but trouble for me these last few days. It all started when I tried to upgrade my internet explorer from 5.0 to 5.5. I will never upgrade it again. It upgraded everything but 2 files and that made it so that I could not blog, or post on a MB or type my problem in a help menu. In other words, any place that there is a white box that you have to click on to type in, I couldn't. I could even tab but could still not type. So I called my ISP since I thought it would be an interntet problem. They said to call my manuf. They said to call my ISP. I said, they said to call you. Then this %&@%&* of a service tech told me to uninstall my ie. You CANNOT uninstall ie. It will not let you. You can add, repair, or restore. I tried to repair and this is when it told me that I had 2 files that were not upgraded. Instead of trying to find those files and download them he took me all of these different places and told me to delete any files for ie that I could find.

OK, I deleted all of these files and now my computer doesn't work properly. He then tells me that it seemed that I needed to do a Quick Restore (QR). He said he had to go, he couldn't sit through it with me but to back up my files and then QR and then call them back if I had any problems. I tried to ask him how to back up my system, but he was impatient and I could tell that he really wanted to get off of the phone. So I let him go.

Then I tried to back up the system. Now he told me to use the backup that is provided on the hard drive. I did this and then got to thinking that if I was going to do a QR, I needed to copy these files to a disk. NOT THE HARD DRIVE!!! I then tried to use the CeQuadrat program that came with my system, that I have used only once, months and months ago. I did not know or remember that you need to uncheck the emulate only box to be able to write to a disk. So everything on my hard drive, My Documents files, Stories I had downloaded, My web pages, my e-mail, my addresses.....everything is gone. I am feeling better about this now, but I was ready to commit murder at that time.

Whew, enough ranting. Everyone has been great about helping me get my links back. I was particularly upset that I didn't have the link to the other side. I have a story there. I wanted to visit. (pout)

I have now learned the wisdom of the almighty hard copy. I don't think that I will ever again keep everything exclusively on my computer. I will now have folders for the important stuff.

Misty, I love these graphics. This is kinda what I have been looking for, but not quite. I will have to see where you got them and do some more research. I have been looking for a good fairy graphic for several days now. I do so love it that we (well I will when I get some up *G*) are required to add links to our graphic centers. I would have no idea where to look otherwise.

Ok, so you are an ENTJ. Is there a question and answer session to figure that out? Or are we supposed to know ourselves well enough? It looks interesting. I wonder just how I compare to the important people in history.
